How do I figure out the size of an image in my iPhoto. How do I know if it is Kilobytes or megabytes. I assume Megabytes are larger than kilobytes and gigabytes are largest.

How do I figure out the size of an image in my iPhoto. Soe applications require a certain size and I have no way of knowing what they are.

Please confirm that Kilobytes are smaller than megabytes and gigabytes are the largest.

I'm afraid that wikipedia page is much too complicated for me.

I am a painter and need to send out my images, sometimes it needs to be a large format for printing and sometimes they want a jpeg for the web. How do I know what the size of the images of my work in iPhoto are?

I did see that kilobytes are smaller than megabytes which has been an ongoing aurgument with a friend

You see the size of an image either by choosing it and "Get Info" (cmd-i) or you can set your entire folder or Finder to arrange by size. Finder menu > View > Arrange by. Also in the Preview pane.

You can also reduce the size of a jpeg by choosing "Duplicate" from the edit menu, then Save and there is a slider for "Quality" in the box.

But your best bet to shrink down files would be pdfs. Save your images as PDFs and see how you like them.
