No, no. iCloud handles iOS backups, not mac.
iCloud is not for backing up Macs, but there are decent third-party web-based backup services. I have been a happy customer of Mozy for a couple of years. It is not too expensive and seems to work fine. The initial back up can take quite long (like several days), but once it has an image of your drive (or a portion of your drive, as you determine), incremental backups happy quickly in the background. You could also use a service like Dropbox, and set it up as your Time Machine drive, but it would not be automatic like Mozy (and more expensive I think).
To back up your Mac online see the suggestions in Roger Wilmut's website: Missing in iCloud page 3 File Sharing and Storage.
