Hey guys. I know there are tons of threads of this, but none help me out. I just bought a new iPad and am trying to set up iMessage and FaceTime. I use both on my MacBook Pro and iPhone. I have-

If there is a problem I am sure apple I s aware of it. I'm sure also if it is still down, people have called or email. If its nationwide or worldwide, I'm sure there is a lot more people not on this site who have contacted apple. For piece of mind try the troubleshoot, if that doesn't work then wait it out. I'm sorry.
My new iPad is also saying "unable to register" or "unable to connect. Please try again" for facetime :s
That is useless for us, because that is iPhone iMessage not iPad one.
We faced problem is an error occurred during activation , not pending activation, even if click create new account still faced same issue.

It's not useless. Trouble shooting is messages and FaceTime. They are on both. Look, I don't have an answer of why it's happening to everyone. Go enjoy your day and try later. Every trouble shoot on the net suggests the same steps. If you have tried it, then I guess your stuck waiting.
It says if you are unable to activate iMessages or FaceTime. Wait atleast 24 hours and try again. That's after you have restored it and tried troubleshooting. There's an answer
this has happened on my ipod touch 2
I think it's a server problem for new registrants. I'm going to bookmark this page and wait until Apple fixes this. If someone get it to work, let us know OK?
I went to apple store in the afternoon (Canada, west coast), and was told that "server for facetime is down, wait 24 hours, and come back if still have the same problem". I hope that is case, coz I spent a few hours trying to fix it, and that was the only words i got. I'd be really ****** if I still can't use it by this time tmr.
Been having the same porblem since 3:30 PM Central Time. I've tried everything, and nothing seems to work.. Is it just an apple problem? Or my ipod?
