Canon MG5300 printer not printing (error 311)

Hi -

I just purchased a Canon pixma MG5300 series, and installed the drivers etc. But now when I try to print, error 311 is returned after a long while of 'printing' I'm running snow leopard 10.6.7, would that make a difference? And what must I do to get it printing?

Did you install the drivers from Canon via the CD/DVD they provided or did you follow Apple's instructions on how to install a printer? If you installed Canon's CD/DVD then that may be the problem. This time following Canon's instructions for removing their software, after doing so restart the computer, then carefully read and follow the instructions in Printing Overview OS X Lion
