hi there i have a problem. my ex boyfriend keeps texting me over imessage, thta is i am not sure , but it has to be because it is for free and not a text message. and i would like to know if i can block him...i would be thankful for any help i can get..gr

iMessage uses your phone number as well as Apple ID. So, get a new phone number & Apple ID. Otherwise, there is no way to block him.

well i got my number changed already..but that didnt help, because it all went over iMessage..so i will try to change my ID then..?
You need a new Apple ID...must be a verified email address. You add that to "receive at" for iMessage, then remove your old Apple ID. You can create an Apple ID here:

There is a way to do this. In notifications, goto messages and you will see "show iMessage Alerts from". Instead of the option "Everyone", select "My Contacts Only". Now, if the person who is sending iMessage to you is in your contacts, delete them. That should do it

this will just stop you from getting notifications - it won't stop you from getting the imessage. there is also no setting for this on the OS.
i hope apple rolls out this privacy feature. its pretty annoying to not have any control over who can message you.
i hope that apple even takes it to the next level of being able to block incoming calls from unwanted numbers though iOS and not through the carrier.
Just block the contact
Open your imesage. On top left panel click message> preferences> accounts> blocked, then add the number you want to block. I hope this helps
