iMessage unsuccessful

My imessage on my iphone wouldnt work this morning so i decided to turn it off and then to turn it back on. But now it wont activate, its just saying waiting for activation. I dont want to reset my phone, unless theres a free way of saving all of my text messages. (I DONT WANT TO DO SCREEN CAPTURES). If anyone could please help me, it would be very appreciated! Thanks

Exactly the same problem here (UK).

Messages were stalling unsent. Tried the usual of deactivating and reactivating iMessage, 'cept it's permanently stuck at "Waiting for activation". So I tried various 3G/wifi networks and all the other suggestions regarding resets and DNS settings. No joy.

Strangely, iMessage on my iPad is working fine - both activating and sending messages. It's just my iPhone (4S) that isn't playing.

I think it's a local server problem with the iMessage Server for europe. (It's in UK)

There are the opportunity that you have to pay some SMS fees if you deactivating and reactivating iMessage.

Sometimes I have exactly the same problem from germany. We use this server, too. I think it works on monday. Please wait...

It's not a problem by your device. Just a current server problem.
