Let's make it clear. All I said concerns the update, that I only succeeded manually after having run disk veryfication and asking for correction. A coincidence? Don't know. But Now my iMac Leopard version is updated as I said to buid 9L31a - From a glance I took in Apple Update support site, I guess that's what's supposed to be. I'm insecure cause I had never done it before. It always worked just from the upperbar: automatic update.
I don't know exactly what you mean by "upperbar: automatic update" but I can confirm that you have the latest version of Mac OS X 10.5. The build version does not change when you apply updates such as Security Updates, Java Updates, Flashback Removal Tool, etc. It only reflects that you are running 10.5.8 which may or may not be fully up-to-date with any other Apple updates.
) I keep getting the same software update (above mentioned) which had been downloaded some times: "FlashBackRemovalUpdate.dmg" : Q1) If it was perfectly installed, why does it still automatically download again and again? 1b) How can I stop it?
OK, now I understand. I don't think I recall having seen that discussed and don't have a solution for you. To verify that it has been installed, select -> System Preferences -> Software Updates -> Installed Updates tab and see if that update is listed. You should also have a file in /Library/Receipts/boms/ that would be something like "com.apple.pkg.FlashBackRemovalUpdate.bom".
Q2) After restarting the computer after this download, I could play some news-video I was used to. I read that the download above (FRupdt) would give a link to download the correct adobe Flash player and not a fake one. No links gotten. You send me one. I downloaded and NOW the videos are playing again. THANKS.
Great!

Q4 abt firewall: I did nothing. I never regulated Apple firewall before; just PC. Didn't even know I could. Thx again to you I'll give the permissions to You tube and Real Player.
You may not have realized it because normally make changes to the Firewall by responding to a popup that appears when you first launch an application asking if you want to allow that app to access the internet or not. Here's the one I get for Java Preferences
NEW QUESTION: In the sharing permissions, I found a Remote Login Adress. Who could have created that? My Internet provider ? For what? Can I keep it OFF ?
Where is this? Is it the Computer Name: at the top of the window? That was simply created when you set up your computer and cannot be used unless you turn on one of the services shown and is perfectly normal. Leave it alone or change it to something you would rather the computer be known as.
Are any of them on? If Remote Login is active, who shows up as being allowed access? The only way these can be changed is by somebody who has physical access to your computer. Your ISP cannot change any of them. They are normally all off.
