Do I need to have Mobil me?

Okay so I was wondering if it was necessary for me to keep the other programs if I do not use them? If I delete Mobilme and iCloud, it won't interfere with iTunes will it?

HI,

MobileMe was the service Apple ran before iCloud.

The last time you could pay for this service was during June 2011.

All Account during that month were extended to June 30th 2012 when Apple Announced they were changing to the free iCloud service.

Many people have changed to the iCloud service using the same name (username@me.com)

As some parts of the OS still refer to MobileMe at present and iCloud is so tied up with your Apple ID it is not wise to delete them.

I would tend to agree with deggie.

As there are only several places, mostly in System Preferences, that make reference to either iCloud or MobileMe and there are no separate apps as such... How do you propose to remove the references when they are an integral part of the place they appear in ?

Not much but I'm trying to get rid of programs I don't need..for some reason my computer has a partition between the hard drive and the section that the computer runs off of for programs so I have been trying to create more space without having the need of a rewriting to take the partition down. It looks like I might have to do that later though :\ gotta love Dell for their little quirks..

Hi,

Apple Software is only given a End User Licence Agreement to be used on Mac computers.

Edit.

There are, technically, limits to how many computers certain Software can be installed on from one Download or Install Disk.

Yeah, I see where I misunderstood you. I didn't know there were differences because the updates (for my iPod deggie) were just there with no diserning labels to say that it was for mac or PC. I'm running OS Windows 7 on my Dell. I got it sorted out so no more worries. So now I'm just downloading the iTunes updates and bits that are meant for my iPod and iTunes.

Ah ha !

A lot more clearer.

(There are posts from time to time about so called "Hackintosh" where people have forced the whole Mac OS onto a windows computer)

Sounds like you are making progress.
