The sign of tty is on the screen, but I cant find any places where I can turn it off. Neither in "Settings" and "General". I haven't turn it on myself...

Settings>Phone>TTY>Off.
Settings>Phone>TTY is where it should be.
I've seen one other post with the same issue but I don't recall the resolution. Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears?
Thanks, but it did not help. TTY is still on, and there is no choice for turning it off. (I bought Iphone because there should be no bugs on it...:-(
Are there phones out there to buy that are supposed to have bugs in them? 😉
Your phone officially unlocked? Using your phone with a non-official iPhone carrier? If so, that's why TTY is on & there is no setting to turn it off. Apple warns this may happen.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings.
That should get rid of the icon regardless.
Hello w, I have an officially unlocked iPhone 3G and 3Gs and 4S, with a Swiss Sim card, or sometimes a Belgian Sim card or French Simcard. There is no "TTY" in Settings/Phone/. Obviously there sometimes is not, I think it has something to do with the Simcard/contract. I have never had anything like it in my iPhones... But I have never seen this TTY window on the screen.
As I said, Apple warns that this "may" happen...key word is "may".
OK, thanks.
The last time I remember trying to help out on this issue, the phone in question was a Verizon phone. So, it's possible there's something else going on other than just an unsupported carrier.
You're right. I was misremembering. No doubt yesterday's fuss and bother wore out my brain.
Ok, now I have reset all settings (all deleted), and I got rid the TTY-problem. First I tried reinstall my security-copy from icloud, but then TTY came back. So now I have started over again with all setting and app-installings.
Maybe I got the problem because I used a cutted "normal-simcard" before I got my mini-Sim.
Thanks for the engagement :-)
