Hi--My flash drive icon doesn't appear as mounted on my eMac desktop (but it does on my iMac). When I look at devices under the Apple, it shows up along w/the keyboard, mouse, printer, etc. thanks

iMac and eMac, Mac OS X (10.4.5), 20" Intel Core Duo--2 GB SDRAM; eMac, G4, 10.2.8, 768 MB RAM

Is it plugged into a keyboard USB port or a USB port on the side of the eMac?

The keyboard USB ports may not provide enough power to mount the drive, even though it will up in Apple System Profiler, although I think this is usually accompanied by a low power warning (it is on mine).

Hello! Also do you have the finder prefs set to show cd/dvd's? if not the flash drive won't show up on the desktop. Tom

Hello! Also do you have the finder prefs set to show
cd/dvd's? My finder preferences shows that "Removable media (such as CDs)" is checked. I also tried "repairing" the flash drive using the iMac Disk Utility but it said everything was ok. What's puzzling is that the flash used to work on the eMac until my kids started swapping homework files from the iMac to the eMac.

    Thanks for your help, Tom.
