Resetting Safari bookmarks in the cloud—how?

Hi,

I've been trying to clean out my old bookmarks, but they keep being restored in the cloud somehow. How do I get my new bookmarks on my mac to overwrite the ones they're syncing to?

Thanks

Ok.. might be corrupted Safari preferences ...

Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar top of your screen click Go > Go to Folder

Type this exactly as you see it here:

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist

Click Go

Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file to the Desktop. Quit then relaunch Safari.

If that made a difference, move the .plist file to the Trash. If not, move it back to the Preferences folder.

Nope.

All the bookmarks I deleted came back again. But this time I noticed that the new sub-folders that I created and moved some bookmars to, was there too.

SO, it seems I can't delete bookmarks, it just keeps new ones and keeps merging them forever.

Mobile me used to have an option to choose the direction of the syncing/overwriting. I don't see that option anymore. I wonder if this is a bug that Apple missed in moving to iCloud.

Can you think of any way of deleting my bookmarks from iCloud, so I can start fresh? -- but then, I'd be worried that it would delete all of my bookmarks from all my devices. :-/
