Searching for books in the bookstore

Is it possible to configure the iBooks with some keywords on the apple book store? Currently they do not show up in search results when some specific keyword searches are used. Or would I have to make sure these keywords appear in the books description for the books to appear?

I said to 'focus' on those areas. If there was no consequence to what the descriptions say, there would be no point in having them.

If you feel the process is flawed, feel free to send feedback, etc.

As well, look into Chomp - it's coming online in the store now.

And as always, if you have questions of your own about a topic, feel free to start your own thread so you can track and close accordingly, thanks.

Well, the OP was about keywords for search results and, as far as I can tell, the description has no influence on search in the store. It seems that only title, subtitle, and author are considered in a search.

Search is currently very limited in the store, compared to other distributors, such as Amazon. In fact, every time I use the store, I find that the experience is really clunky in comparison.

It would be good if the store had smarter search technology. Right now, I don't believe it's being used for books.

I'll wait for the OP.

Everyone has that opinion - no matter why they use the store. I wish every search, regardless of the input string, retured my products listed first...not sure why they can't get on that...

As always, if anyone sees the need for changes, they should feel free to use the 'Provide iBooks Author Feedback' menu item for features they'd like added in the future, etc.

I'll wait for the OP.

The OP asked about keywords and improving searches, and whether keywords in the description influence the outcome of searches. Seeing that the description does not influence the search results, recommending to focus on the description is probably contraindicated in this context.

I wish every search, regardless of the input string, retured my products listed first...

I don't think that's a reasonable expectation.

Unless it's a joke... I thought people understood sarcasm over there - guess not. I'll make a note.

In the context of this conversation, my receptiveness to jokes (funny or otherwise) is probably somewhat diminished.

Let's let the OP define what they mean. And ask their own questions. Be patient.

My reading of the OP's post suggests that the OP was quite unambiguous in his/her question.

I'm not interested in your reading, sorry, Just mine and just the OP's. Start your own thread if you want to visit and chat, etc.

You really should learn to relax. That, or ignore anything that doesn't go down well. Public forums are not the best place if you aren't flexible with the oinions of others...ever.

Chill out...

Wow, wasnt expecting such a big discussion!

Ok to clarify, my book is a guide on how to use software. If i search for the words "Oracle BI" in the Bookstore my book does not appear, I'm guessing its because the phrase "Oracle BI" isnt in the title. I was wondering that if I used the phrase "Oracle BI" in the description field or any other fields, if the book would then show up in the store.
