iPod touch not being recognised by iTunes, recognised in "My Computer"

Hello,

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate, I have iTunes 10.

I have tried restoring the iPod touch, I have tried switching it on and off. I have tried with each USB port, my security settings are fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, I have restarted the computer. I have reset the ipod.

It has still not been recognised by iTunes.

What can I do to get the iPod touch to be recognised by iTunes?

vvv on "My Computer" at the bottom I can see this. Here I can access my DCIM folder, which contains some photos and videos.

So the Apple Mobile Device serviced is installed and running on your system? You tried to uninstall and re-install iTunes and all Apple related software?

Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

Simply responding yes doesn't do much to help. We need as much detail as we can get in order to help you troubleshoot this issue. Otherwise, we are just pulling at straws.

If you connect it to another PC or Mac is it recognized there? This will help determine if you have an iPod issue or a computer problem.

I assume the iPod charges when you have it plugged in? Have you tried another USB sync cable? What about plugging the iPod into a different USB port, preferably a high powered one.
