Wireless iTunes Sync From PC To Mac

Hi, so I am trying to find a program that will allow me to sync my current windows itunes library to my macbook pro. It may sound stupid but in the fall I will going into college and it would be nice to be able to sync all the music I buy on my desktop over to my mac so that I do not have to manually copy over the songs. Also, I do not have an iPhone (I have an 8gb nano chromatic that I might use) so I dont have the capability to "wirelessly" sync from the iPhone to either computer.

So, I am just wondering if there is such a program or if I will just have to do this manually which will be a pain.

Thank you.

Alex

You can enable sharing on the Windows box and then access it from the Mac. Then you need something to sync them. I'm sure there are commercial or shareware apps to do that. Or, if you are familiar with some UNIX/Linux command line tools, you can use Rsync and script it to keep certain folders copied over from master to copy.

Some apps to read up on that I can think of quickly are SilverKeeper, GoodSync, Chronosync, Filesync (I have no idea how current any of these are as I just script my own Rsync tools and use them for this kind of thing, but there are/were lots of choices for this kind of thing between network shares).

I don't know the details of Mac networking but hopefully you could password protect any shared folder.

The aim of the process would be to take a complete copy of your iTunes folder on PC and stick it on your Mac in such a way that later the software could compare the two folders and copy the changes from one side to the other.

The normal layout for an iTunes library is an iTunes folder holding a iTunes Media folder. When set up like this it is usually possible to move the iTunes library folder from one path to another without breaking the links. This is a requirement since it isn't possible to use exactly the same file paths on both a Mac and a PC.
