I got that today - presumed it was a scam but came looking here just in case!

Yup i want to know how they got my number though! soo annoying that Cell phone numbers are now being used by telemarketers and scam artists. T_T

The scammers may well have software that just sends texts to every phone number in sequential order. That's the way most telemarkers do it for phone calls; their systems just start calling every number in a block or numbers or geographic area.

It doesn't matter. Apple has no such giveaway. That the word "apple" is part of the URL means nothing. I could open a new domain called something like www.apple.howdy.com and it would have no connection Apple at all.

With literally billions of possible combinations you can use for a domain name, it would be essentially impossible to cover all of them. Not to mention costing more per year to hold the domain names than Apple has in the bank.

There's been a lot of that lately. I saw one earlier today where a fairly new user made a suggestion on another three year old topic. Makes me wonder why they're looking for them in the first place.
