You have to enable Photo Stream in one of your Photo Applications, either in Aperture or iPhoto; only one of these Applications can use the Photo Stream on each computer, and the Photo Stream can only be tied to one Aperture or iPhoto Library.

To enable Photo Stream open the Aperture Preferences from Aperture's main menu bar:

Aperture > Preferences > Photo Stream

and select if you want automatic import and export.

Then the Photo Stream should also be appear as enabled in the iCloud Tab of System Preferences.

I went to the preferences and did not find photo stream.  I was general, appearance, events, sharing, web, advanced.  So, where do I find photo stream?  I have photo stream in my icloud section in general system preferences, but it does not let me highlight it.

What is your MacOS version and Aperture version? You need MacOS X 10.7.2 or later and Aperture 3.2.2 or later to support the Photo Stream. Then your Aperture Preference Panel should look like this.

If it does not, you may have a problem with your Preferences file in your user library. Try the

    Aperture 3: Troubleshooting Basics: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3805

and start with removing the Preferences.
