Q: Which phone number is used in the user information. I used home phone but that number did not enable the data plan.

How to set up Cellular Data account on ipad does not say what phone number to use in the user information. Do I use my home phone, cell phone# or the cellular data number provided by the Purchase confirmation email received?

A:

Yes, I entered the number from the ATT Domestic Data Plan Purchase Confirmation and I think it is working now.

The confirmation should have said or Apple could say that is the phone number that needs to be inserted in the user info, but it was not clear from the instructions either on the Apple trouble shooting FAQ or in their Confirmation. Thanks for your timely reply.

In the user information at the top you use the phone number that you want them to call you at.

Ipad cannot call or be called except on Facetime and some added apps. My question was about the Ipad. Were your comments for the Iphone or does it apply to both? Still confused but any help is appreciated.

Yes, I know that iPad cannot be called. Do you not have a phone number where AT&T can call you and talk to you? That is what they are wanting in that field a contact phone number where they can reach you in case there is an issue with your account.
