Problem with Huawei E353

I'm having a problem with my Huawei E353 usb dongle. Every time i plug the dongle into my macbook pro, a black screen comes up asking me to restart the laptop by holding down the power button. How do i resolve this problem? I am currently running Snow Leopard 10.6.8

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

That is often caused by bad hardware, incompatible hardware, or a software error.

The first recommended step as detailed above, is to power the computer off and try a safe boot.

When you plug in your E353 modem, mobile partner shows up right? So did you install mobile partner? Make sure to install it normally and not through any other 3rd party software. And to use mobile partner is simple. All you have to do is:

1. Install Mobile Partner

2. After opening Mobile Partner, go to Tools located at the top of your screen, the toolbar with the Apple icon

3. In Tools, select options and the navigate to Profile Management

4. In Profile Management, click on the "New" button, then click on the "Save" button, then click "Ok"

5. That's it, setup is complete. Plug in your E353 (if it isn't already plugged in). Wait for the program to detect and recognize your device, and once you see the signal strength icon at the bottom left corner of Mobile Partner, you can hit the "Connect" button, and your E353 should work perfectly 🙂
