Q: My Macbook pro battery charger is no longer charging and HOT

I noticed I was on reserve battery power after charging my laptop all night. Plugged in again and no orange light. The unit (charger) was VERY HOT!  No charging...borrowed my son's charger (a newer one with different connector) and its working. Do I need to replace my charger? Its three years old last month. Thanks for any help!  I am a hardware idiot! Completely!

My charger was having the same issue.  I read somewhere on the Apple Forum that lint will keep it from charging.  I took a Q-Tip and cleaned mine and instantly it started to work.  I would try this before I sepnd $80 on a new charger.
