Adding to your comments, documents made by ANY application that can access the Print dialogue can be saved in PDF format using this route.

    Use the print dialog & save as PDF. I don't have a Mac with Tiger running right now, but I believe Tiger has the PDF or Save as PDF button in the lower left of the print dialog box.
