I have purchased a Season pass of Breaking Bad. I can see that both S5 E1 and 2 have downloaded, but it only plays a 30 second clip. What do I need to do to view my purchases? I downloaded it to my iPad 2.

You play videos and TV shows in the videos app, not in iTunes. Look for the shows in the videos app.
Anyone mention itunes on any ios devices is just a link to the store and to watch anything you use the video app?
What if you are not trying to view on an Apple product and you are using a Windows 7 notebook ?
iTunes Movies and TV Shows are downloaded with iTunes on a PC and with a Mac.

The Videos App is on the iPad. iTunes on the iPad is the store in which you can buy music, TV Shows and movies. It is not the media player like it is on your computer.
You play movies in the Videos App on the iPad and you play songs in the Music App. Whether you download the content directly on the iPad or in iTunes on your computer and then sync it to the iPad - you still use the Videos App for Movies, TV Shows and Music Videos and the Music App for playing songs.
