How much does tech support cost after 90 day warranty?

Mine expired and i need to get my phone repaired/replaced. How much will it cost to contact them?

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1

Just calling is free, but once they know the issue and transfer you to the actual technical support, they charge about $20 for support--they build a case and I think the $20 covers one month of support. But don't worry, they'll warn you before charging, and they'll also recommend that you go into an Apple store for a free consultation, where they will let you know if it's a software/hardware issue, and then let you know how much it will cost to fix.

Apple will usually not charge you if the problem you call about turns out to be something covered by the hardware warranty, though you'll be asked to provide a credit card up front to cover the service call if it turns out to be a software issue or otherwise not covered by warranty.


If you have an Apple Store in your area, though, I agree with the recommendations of the others that you make an appointment there. They'll help you regardless of the problem unless the iPhone has been damage or jailbroken.
