Q: Need to force quit due to "Mobile me discontinued" message
When I start Aperture i get the sign telling me mobile me is no more. The program is totally unresponsive - I can't choose either "Learn more" or "OK" or anything else. Only thing left to to is press Cmd+Alt+Escape to Force quit Aperture. I've migrated a year ago to icloud and have no galleries. I hope someone knows a way around this as Aperture is effectively blocked right now?

(Force-)Quit Aperture, if it is running and launch it agian.
Usually you should be able to get to the Aperture menu bar by selecting "Learn more" from the "Mobile Me" alert, on no account press "o.k".
If that is not possible, because Aperture is already trying to transfer content, turn off your network connection before you launch Aperture - disable your Wi-fi, or disconnect the ethernet cable.
Then you should be able to launch Aperture without it trying to download.
From the main menu bar select:
File > Web Accounts > Edit Web Accounts
and remove Mobile Me from the left side of the panel by selecting it and pressing "-".
Then open your System Preferences, go to the Mobile Me panel, and sign out of Mobile Me, or click first the "Visit me. com" button, to download any contents that needs saving, then sign out.
If all this fails, remove the Aperture preferences from the User library as described in
Aperture 3: Troubleshooting Basics: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3805
Log off and on again, after quitting Aperture, before you remove the preferences, if you are running MacOS Lion or later.
