I did too -- just got an automated message from email@example.com that detailed the same steps I had performed earlier until I got the error message.
Has ANYONE received a working code?
Also, how soon does Apple send the code?

Well, the guy sat next to me with a retina Macbook Pro got a working one and is downloading now.
I should say that I have a new 13" Air and there wasn't an option in the dropdown to say what machine it was to state it was a MacBook Air. I chose 'MacBook'. Don't know if that has caused a problem.

Ha. Same here. How soon did u get your (bad) code?
I think last year was the same though (Macbooc. Not Air specificaly in ddown). A friend had new air. Got the code. Upgraded without a hitch.
Same issue here ... already emailed firstname.lastname@example.org but no response yet!
The PDF arrived in a couple of minutes of submitting the form.
Same problem as well. Just got off the phone with apple support who said I have to wait 3 days to redeem the code. 3 days?!?!?
