Apple has truly disappointed me with their attitude towards this issue. I applied to the UTD program yesterday, as the application went live. I received the confirmation email instantly, followed by an email containing a password to unlock my content-code file. Unfortunately, the content-code file aforementioned in the email was never received. I decided to wait a few hours. Then I sent an email to the Apple UTD support team at I sent it to the 'ae' support because I purchased it from UAE. What's annoying is that I live in Pakistan. And due to the lack of availability, I had to fly especially to the UAE to buy the new RMBP. I was expecting the update process to be a little easier since the RMBP actually came out AFTER June 11th 2012. I don't know if I will receive my update. Or if I'll have to fork up another 20$. I have only received one typical reply from Apple, which is not even related to my issue. An email containing instructions on how to upgrade from the App store. Unfortunately, it's completely useless as I NEVER RECEIVED MY CODE!! I hope you guys have better luck than I have had thus far. :\

Still not got a new code in the UK

Despite sending emails to the UK and US update email Address, calling Apple direct and submitting a form

This morning I received an email from the US side telling me how to input the code, I am not stupid!  I know how to enter a code, but if Apple had sent the right one out that would be perfect.

So all the "new" customers have to wait unless they want to pay the £13.99.  I didnt experince this joke of a situation last year when upgrading our new imac to Lion.

Come on Apple, get this sorted, it doesnt take 24 hours to send a new code.

I'm tired to eat that ****, there is mockery in all e-mails. They are didn't wrote even about 24 hours to answer, looks like i'll must wait for next mail forewer and it will not contain second code.

А российский uptodate вообще не ответил, ребятам отдельное спасибо. Рад, что вы отлично выспались. US поддержка мне хоть ответила.

I got my working code today , approx 20 hrs after my complain about the first one not working.

As keen as I was to upgrade am equally disappointed at the way Apple have dropped the ball on this!

Received an "already used" code, emailed support and told if haven't received a new code within "5-7 business days" which taking out weekends could be up to 10 days I should contact them to look into it.

The word shambles springs to mind.  For an automated process 5-7 days is an overlong timescale.

    Tut, tut Apple.

what ajoke apple sells some great stuff but,,,,,,

an easy fix would be to credit everyone itunes accounts $20 then redeem via app store but NO i guess apple whats to compare there success against wimdows vista again, apple love there numbers & increased marketshare might **** people off im sure when they do there next keynote they will say how sucessful moutain lion is but wont mention their issues........     apple had plenty of time to get this right..................

asked for my first code nearly 24 hrs ago and still have not recieved what a joke honestly.......

I received my first code in a matter of minutes ! How long does it take to load up the computer with new codes and press the send button again? Seriously, why is this taking so long? It's been nearly 24 hours since I got my first code !

  • cstevens72 Level 1 (0 points)

Still waiting now for 24 hours since the mess that Apple created, would be good for Apple to just state they will credit all accounts affected with a $20 credit, I could then just buy the damm copy and get my code later.

As it is everyone who has just given Apple a shed load of money on equipment has to way at least 3 days to get the latest version of the software.

This is not just a tiny annoyance, as I have been waiting to use our new Macbook Air in ernest because didnt want to install much on it or start the long time machine backups until I had upgraded.

Thanks Apple for treating us right.  I switched to Apple a year ago and dont regret it, but seriously this is terrible!

*** What is more annoying than anything is the total lack of any communication from Apple publicly, and the lack of coverage in any mainstream press that Apple messed up ***

I feel your pain, you know it's not so much the $20.00, its the principle. We pay alot for there computers, we expect an excellent product and first class support. In this case someone really dropped the ball and it makes me wonder if this can happen, can we really trust the cloud services?

I'm concerned that Mr Cook doesn't really care and has bigger issues than worring about customers who went out on the limb bought computers wanted to take full advantage of the new operating system. this is a big league blunder, thou it only effects 15k or so people it was poorly executed.

  • cstevens72 Level 1 (0 points)

yep I feel the same, although I moved to an iMac the same time last year and seemlessly upgraded to Lion for free, I think it was a download link though last time.

This situation is a joke, and whilst its only $20 it is the principle of the thing, I am not a millionaire so buying an iMac and an Air is no short change and I believe this is a sh*tty way to treat people.

That meer 15k of people have probably just spent on average $1000 each so a lot of money just come Apple's way and this is how they treat us.

If my CEO made such a blunder effecting 15k of users I am pretty sure there would at least be a public appology.

O2 in the UK had an outage of 1 day recently and we have all had a £10 credit and a £10 gift voucher.  O2 are not normally known as a good company, but boy their customer service is better than Apple right now.
