No utilities folder on new iPhone 4s

I just bought a new iPhone 4s at the Verizon store yesterday and have been trying to create/find the contacts folder. The discussions in these forums all tell me to look in the utilities folder, but I don't have one. I don't have any folders. I do have contacts in my "phone" icon at the bottom of the screen, but no other way of accessing it that I can see. It shows up on spotlight, but not as an icon that I can move. When I look on spotlight for the utilities folder it isn't there either.

There is no "utilities" folder on an iPhone, not unless you created a folder with that name. There is also no contacts folder. There is a contacts app which contains the contacts you enter manually or by sync'ing with your computer (or iCloud if you already had an iPhone previously and used iCloud to backup contacts).

There really are no user browsable folders or anything like them on an iPhone. Apps are compartmentalized and store their data & files within the app bundle itself. You can only browse those files or contents from within the app that contains them. It has no user interfaced file/folder structure like a computer.

The only folders you can create are ones to group apps together to help organize your various screens and space (which you make by pressing and holding an app icon until it wiggles and a red "-' shows up, then drag that app icon on top of another one you wish to group it with and the system will create a folder with those apps now in it).
