Installing Canon SELPHY CP780/790 driver in Mountain Lion

Worked for me with my brand new CP900 on Mountain Lion. Thanks a lot. Canon technical support were useless. If the fix is that easy, I can't believe that they don't have 10.8 drivers available.

I just got the cp900 can you please post how you were able to get it to work with moutain lion. I keep getting java script error when i follow the steps in origonal post.

This didn't work for me. I got a JavaScriptError every time I run the installer. Tried it several times.

after you make the changes

function installationCheck() {

return true;

}

delete everything else in that function and it should work

I reinstalled macbook recently after adding crucial m4. i then had the same error just do what Jbrannon says and it is fixed. If you leave to much you have an error.

I have tried this on my macbook pro running 10.8.1 CP800. It installs and looks like it is going to work but then hangs indefinitely after the paper has made the first pass through the machine from the paper tray.perhaps this is a different problem? Any thoughts gratefully accepted! mmiller22

Were you ever able to figure it out? I'm having the same issue still as you mentioned... I'm on OS 10.8.2 Mountain Lion and CP800 printer. Does the first pass and then nothing. I actually have two CP800's & tried this on both and same issue so I know it's not the printer. Help!

Try and go to the Canon UK website,,, they have a driver for osx10.8/ CP800

I have not tried it as I installed the patch driver already

Thanks for the suggestion but alas the same result-just hangs after the first pass.Im beginning to regret Mountain Lion!

I did what you describe and get it to run and I guess install.

However when I go to add a printer, the canon cp790 shows up in the printer, but the "use" will not allow me to select anything that will work.

Am I missing something? The original pkg seemed to install fine, but I still can't get the printer to install.

I won't be buying canon printers again, crap mac support!

I have the same problem as the above post from ppioroh except I am trying to install a CP760.

When selecting the "use" source, nothing seems to work.

Any suggestions?

I got mine to work by installing the Gutenprint drivers (Gutenprint Printer Drivers). I'm not sure it works as it did before, but at least I got it to be installed and print.

Canon still ***** for not supporting such a newer printer on Mac.
