why won't album artwork show on ipod touch 4g?

Try back up your iPod to iTunes then completely reset it that should work

well i think its itunes, i renamed a song through properties and uploaded it through itunes, when i try to rename a song through itunes its artist unkown on ipod

First a question, do you download you music then move it into itunes or do you buy it? I download alot of my music and I had that problem even when it showed in itunes. I went into get info and then pasted the correct album work there and it fixed it, but if that doesn't work, i would check to make sure everything is upto date, ipod and itunes, causei know updating it solved it for the couple of sounds that didn't work with.

I figured it out first put muisc into itunes library, or make a play list. Then then drag the songs you want to your ipod. Make sure you name them correctly before if you want. And depending on where u got them, they might not have artwork but u can add them in get info if you want.

I have had this problem since iOS4 and I recently (mostly) resolved it in iOS6.

1. First make sure you do not 'Sign In' into iTunes store.

2. I used playlists to resolve the issue. Create a playlist with one song, preferably one that does not have any album art.

3. Create another playlist with all the songs you want to add.

4. With your iTouch/iPhone attached open iTunes. Go to Device->Music. Under Sync Music:choose "Selected playlists,albums and genres". Choose the one song playlist from those shown. Click on the Sync(Apply) button. This will delete all of the songs.

5. Once the deletion is complete choose the playlist with all the songs. Click on the Apply(Sync)button. This will install all the songs again and with album artwork.

6. Once all the songs have been installed click on all the playlists that you want to add (no new songs) and click on the Sync(Apply) button again.

You should now have your songs with album artwork and playlists installed. Hope this helps. The song in the one song playlist won't have any artwork even if it is included. There were some albums whose artwork were not installed. I had a 95% success rate. As I said, it mostly solves the problem for me.

If you bought the song from someplace elsewhere than iTunes and are trying to add album artwork from iTunes if it is there and it doesn't show up, open up get info and make sure you type in the album title and artist exactly the way it is in iTunes because even though iTunes may have the album artwork it will not show up unless you have typed it exactly as it is titled in iTunes into the get info album and artists fields.
