Jul 26, 2012 2:30 AM in response to diverterby projectshadowfax,I'm in the Uk and it seems to be hanging at 53.25mb.
Can anybody tell me how to stop it and restart please?

Jul 26, 2012 2:33 AM in response to projectshadowfaxby inyourbus,Go to the App Store,
Click Purchases
Find Mountain Lion. Cancel and Delete, Retsart.
Once you use a VPN or Hotspot Shiled or Proxy, You will get past the 53.25megs.

Jul 26, 2012 3:00 AM in response to projectshadowfaxby Screaming.Pict,To expand on Inyourbus' reply. The problem seems to be either with your ISP or the network you are downloading through (are you going through a corporate firewall?)
The solution is to either;
1) Try a different connection. I got it to download through my VirginMedia connection at home, it was my work connection that was failing
OR
2) get a free trial with a VPN service, connect to that and download through it (what that does is tunnels out through your ISP to a different 'virtual' ISP- I"m oversimplifying but that's the basics).
The VPN service that inyourbus suggested previously was http://www.hotspotshield.com/

Jul 26, 2012 3:11 AM in response to diverterby mike from the ferns,Also in UK stuck at 53.25MB. Has anyone found a way around this yet. It is not a speed issue because if you have the purcahses page open it hangs for a while at 53.25MB then responds with An error has occured.

Jul 26, 2012 4:06 AM in response to inyourbusby hyndman,There is nothing wrong with "you people". They are merely trying to find a quick answer to the 53.25MB problem and a quick answer. Yes, if they read the thread they will find the answer. You have to realise that most people want a quick fix.
If they read back through the thead there are several thoughts that it is related to specific ISPs. For example I had the issue on a BT business account. Yet when I went home I was able to download straight away on a Virgin Media account.
That's all. And it's not worth name calling in forums. It gets old.

Jul 26, 2012 4:12 AM in response to hyndmanby inyourbus,Yea, there is something wrong with somone coming to a forum, finding a thread and posting before reading anything (not even the previous post) from said thread.
Some threads on the Apple forum are 100s of pages long. This thread has only 4 Pages currently. Not a long job to get through to find a solution in my oppinion. So it is still a quick fix.

Jul 26, 2012 4:12 AM in response to hyndmanby RemekTek,I am just puzzled why it seems to stop at the same spot for so many people? Mine was the same and I got past it with hotspotshield, but that still doesn't answer the question about the stop position.
I then removed the VPN thing and carried on for the full download without any problems! Very odd.

Jul 26, 2012 4:15 AM in response to diverterby mike from the ferns,Also on BT business broadband. I guess one of thier cache servers has a corrupt copy of the download.
As has been posted earlier, use an alternative broadband if you can or go through a proxy or vpn such as hotspot shield.

Jul 26, 2012 4:21 AM in response to mike from the fernsby hyndman,BT Business Broadband definately seems to be a common theme related to the 53.25MG issue

Jul 26, 2012 7:38 AM in response to diverterby alpha21mike,Left for 8 hours last night and didnt get any response whatsoever. Still stuck on "waiting". Have tried from multiple locations so not network, have rebooted multiple times, have restarted app store multiple times. This is sh1t...
I cannot see any responses from Apple on this issue even though it looks like the servers in the shiny new data centre are hosed.
