Battery life dropped considerably on Mountain Lion.

I upgraded to mountail Lion and now my battery life is about half of what it was before upgrading. Shouldn't the update improve battery life? Also, what can I do about this?

I have noticed this issue once I upgraded to Lion originally. I even mentioned it to a Genius once when I was haveing my iPhone replaced. He said he has never heard of any such issues. I am running a 2008 macbook aluminum body BTW. I even went to the extent of purchasing a new battery (Im sure we all know how cheap those are).With Mountain Lion I am luck to get an hours worth of use with out being tethered to the power cord.

Also just saw this post from someone from the above article - makes sense and will look into it:


"I had this happening to my mid-2010 MBP and I thought it might be the result of outdated HDD firmware. I updated the Seagate Momentus XT firmware to SD28 and that appears to have fixed things. This was not very scientific problem-solving though, and it could be total coincidence."
