Battery life dropped considerably on Mountain Lion.

I upgraded to mountail Lion and now my battery life is about half of what it was before upgrading. Shouldn't the update improve battery life? Also, what can I do about this?

Guys - I can't seem to get the smc reset working on my retina MacBook :(. I'm pressing the keys that I should be but the MagSafe isn't changing colour :(. (Left hand shift,Ctrl and alt buttons + power)

Anybody have any ideas?

I just did a time machine restore and am back to 3.4hrs :( the amount of time I'm spending on getting this fixed is ridiculous :(

I've been following this thread since the day i bought my MPB Late 2012 edition, just to keep myself updated as to whether everything is alright with ML battery drain issues and if Apple has a solution to it. In the meanwhile, something else concerns me. My 22 weeks old MBP 2.5ghz running Lion 10.7.4 shows 91% battery health and a temperature within the range 30-31 c. I would like to know if these numbers are good enough for an MBP that is mainly used for surfing, document preps and some image editing works. Thanks!

somehow, my MBPr 15 run insanely efficent today with the battery, and I do notice that the body and the air outlet area is also really really cool.

activities I have done today , PHP programming, downloading, play songs, web browsing ( safari only), database programming and its tools. local server software running at the background ...etc

actually more work than before, but I don't see the battery problem today, am I getting lucky or just a random luck and will start all over again ?

I do have all of my softwares up to date, including system itself.

anyone have similar experiences after update ?

dont even go there about this problem, i went into an apple store 2 months ago about the battery problem, they didnt even have mountain lion installed on the shop server, so they couldnt help me in the matter "how convenient". and still no fix, well apple looks like your becoming microsoft, more worried about rolling out an iphone every year or less than supporting your products when MAJOR issues arise in your programming :/

I meant about sleeping time. With SL in the same computer, I would say that power drain, while sleeping, was almost zero ! I wrote almost, not zero.

After upgrading to ML, it drains such a percentage I described. 80 hours, or about 3 days, is not acceptable to drain the full battery with the OS in sleeping mode.

If the Mac is sleeping it is using power, if it is using power the battery will eventually run out, how many days do you think it should run while asleep?

I have never done this test, but for me it is strange to drain 10% in just one night .... at least in my opinion we have something to be fixed in this latest OS, and this is not something bad for Apple. It happens to deliver something not so perfect and I hope the software engineers be aware of this problem. Many users are complaining about this and I really noticed this issue after upgrading.
