Aug 16, 2012 11:30 AM in response to jpengland96by Hrimfaxi,Ok, so with my rBMP base, I used terminal to remove the notification center.
Now, I have slightly more power, but after 20 minutes of browsing the web with Safari, this is what I have:
I upgraded Lion to Mountain Lion, and would like very much to have the previous autonomy.
Maybe I'll return to Lion, but I am affraid that a wipe could remove stuff like iLife or even monitor calibration? What about the battery?
Please Apple, fix my battery

MacBook Air showed very poor battery life already under Lion. Seems to have got worse with Mountain Lion.

Aug 16, 2012 1:25 PM in response to Christopher Doldby gkygrl,Chris, does your battery state "SERVICE BATTERY" ... it you have Apple Care, go get it taken care of and they will replace it right in the shop as you wait. It's a quick and easy replacement.
As for another issue, I disabled notification and then re-enabled notification center according to directions found on this forum and elsewhere and I find that when I reboot, Notification Center no longer comes up automatically after a reboot. I have to navigate to the file in CORE SERVICES and double click it to have it restart.
Has anyone else renamed, killed, and then re-enabled the Notification Center and noticed this type of behavior? I just want to be able to run ML to it's capacity trusting that Apple will fix the glitch with battery life.
I decided to pre-emptively send a new round of data to the tech I was working with (a utility called PowerMon). More sample data to pass to the engineers.
Can't hurt.

Aug 16, 2012 3:04 PM in response to towbsenby Zane81,I decided to open a ticket as I don't want to risk having early battery failure caused by this and it it not be covered as its a wear and tear item. When I spoke to apple care in Switzerland they didn't know about the issue they put me through to the UK as I ran out of German vocabulary trying to explain. I was able to question the uk representative a bit more and he told me there have been no reports of battery drain on ML. I was advised to repair permissions and reset the PRAM, also to make an appointment at my nearest store for them to inspect the hardware.
I have a support ticket number.
I am running ML on a brand new rMBP and mid 2009 13" MBP.
The rMBP depleats under light use in just over 4 hours.

Aug 16, 2012 3:13 PM in response to jpengland96by sapplebees,Just downgraded to Lion from ML as I was getting sick of my new MBA's (mid 2012) drainage. Everything seems more or less back to normal. I've had at least 4 hours with some heavy use and seem to be getting closer to the 7-8 hours I used to get before upgrading to ML. Won't go back to ML till this is properly dealt with.

Aug 16, 2012 3:22 PM in response to rincon_pointby Zane81,I bought Lion in the app store, I checked my previous purchases and lion is available to download, so I aim guessing I can put this on a USB device and recover from it. I can reload files and applications using time machine from my NAS.
