Did you disable completely in Terminal? I have it temp disabled and noticed some improvement on a late 2008 MBP running ML.Debating whether to disable it with the terminal command. Let me know.

Aug 25, 2012 12:13 PM in response to larryvavrekby manueru,I did it through the terminal.
Open the terminal and type
cd /System/Library/CoreServices
sudo mv NotifyCenter.app NotifyCenter_Disabled.app
killall NotificationCenter

Aug 25, 2012 12:50 PM in response to jpengland96by slego,Nope, switching Notification center off has not resolved the issue. I believe this solution would be to obvious for Apple developers to check it at the very beginning of having first complainings.
At least this solution does not work for my MBP middle of 2010. It worked 3.5 hours with Lion.
With ML 10.8.1 it hardly works 2 hours. Drops 1% per 1 minute.

Aug 25, 2012 12:41 PM in response to manueruby larryvavrek,Thanks Done now to see how it helps. MPB has been on since this am, standing at 57% with some use and sleep. Can always re-enable so no harm no foul.

Aug 25, 2012 2:05 PM in response to Beisariusby McGoohan,Beisarius,
Thanks for the details and the reasoning on what you selected. Really appreciate being able to see your real-world experience on what you're seeing for battery life.
It's all speculation of course, but it's easy to wonder if this is more about a variety of issues; different tweaks seem to help some people on some machines more than others, and even reports about 10.8.1 seem to vary. Hopefully they'll get to the bottom of it.
Have to say I'm disappointed in how Apple is handling this, especially given it's affecting users of current models and Apple controls the whole ecosystem. If someone was encountering the problem on some weird / ancient / non-Apple configuration that's easier to understand.
But for people with brand-new models to be seeing the issues makes it seem more serious--like that Apple needs to improve their testing procedures. Part of the reason we choose Apple and pay the premium is because "it just works." Mountain Lion so far doesn't meet those expectations and makes it much easier to consider alternatives. Even though I'd much rather stick with OS X.

Aug 25, 2012 3:41 PM in response to jpengland96by eddyr,After 10.8.1 I have left my MacBook Air sitting asleep whilst on battery power for two day just opening occasionally to check and battery has stayed around 75% to 80%
Opened it up this morning at 73% started Safari ... just opned it and have sat here for 15 minutes or so just watching battery dissipate over 15 minutes with no use it's dropped to 61% that's way too much when not even in use.
Is it tru that this problem destroys battery health permanantly and will Apple replace the Batteries if so ?

Aug 25, 2012 4:00 PM in response to eddyrby tarpus,Can everyone on the thread restart their machines and try pressing 3 and 2 during restart? This will put the machine back in 32 bit mode. I tried this, and saw improvement.

Aug 25, 2012 4:39 PM in response to tarpusby eddyr,Why would you want to run the machines below capacity that's not what I bought it for ... problem has to be fixed by Apple not delet stuff turn stuf off and not use functions you paid for .... what's the point of that ... buy a porche and reno it down to a toyota ?
