Sep 19, 2012 1:40 PM in response to jla12087by Dariofunkybass,Same for me.
Even worse than 10.8.1.
Going back to Lion...very very very disappointing from Apple.

Sep 19, 2012 1:48 PM in response to Dariofunkybassby Kenji20022,Same, this is absurd. I'm at 85% with a little under 2 hours left. What the ****? I literally just got this laptop less than 3 months ago.

Sep 19, 2012 1:50 PM in response to Dariofunkybassby chris_gr,I still believe it is a firmware issue. have not tested 10.8.2 yet, still downloading ...
does this install come with a firmware update?
For those on retina MBP that did the update and saw no change I know from macrumors that apple just updated a firmware. Have you updated your firmware?
A clean installation may help. I will also give it 1-2 days after the update so that the system does all this spotlight stuff and if not I would go to apple service.

Sep 19, 2012 1:58 PM in response to chris_grby Kenji20022,There is a new firmware bundled with it, I installed that also. That isn't relevant. The battery life got worse, I'm going to let it drain completely and then do a PRAM Reset.

Sep 19, 2012 1:59 PM in response to Kenji20022by jla12087,This is upsetting. Hopefully it will get better as 10.8.2 seems to have fixed everyone else's battery issue. Maybe with a little bit of waiting. I'm Verifying Disk Permissions and Repairing them as I type this.

Sep 19, 2012 2:11 PM in response to jla12087by Thinman,Made little or no difference to me.
Going to drain the battery and calibrate.
This b....awful as we say here.
If this goes on it will be the last MBP I will buy.

A PRAM reset won't hurt, but what you want is to try resetting the SMC.
Let us know how it goes.
Looks like mixed results so far. I'm still running a fresh install on my MacBook Air. Fingers still crossed.

Sep 19, 2012 3:07 PM in response to richsadamsby Kenji20022,There's a shot of the ETA proving that at 85% I was around 2 hours, and my activity monitor showing that nothing was running beisdes my internet browser (Rockmelt) and Activity Monitor itself. I used Safari also but it was worse so I took the pictures with Rockmelt.
I used to get 3 hours before this update steadily, and if it's at 2 now after this. I'm going to the Apple Store tomorrow or this weekend after the iPhone craze dies. And then I'll get a replacement battery, or whatever else needs to get replaced, this is my main computer so the fact that it's not functioning ANYWHERE near what was advertised is really ticking me off.
