Aug 3, 2012 12:56 PM in response to jpengland96by gkygrl,Did many folks get the "service battery" message after the install or is that just a much rarer issue? Just curious.

Aug 3, 2012 12:57 PM in response to Tom Lovemanby Ceci_1234,well, the battery usually won't start charging until it drops down below 95%, so although it is 98%, it will still show up as charged.

Aug 3, 2012 1:00 PM in response to jpengland96by christophe v.,same problem here. upgrading to Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard just killed my battery life on mu MBP mid-2009. A totally un acceptable bug. A real shame.

Aug 3, 2012 1:01 PM in response to jpengland96by ajarch82,I have noticed this issue once I upgraded to Lion originally. I even mentioned it to a Genius once when I was haveing my iPhone replaced. He said he has never heard of any such issues. I am running a 2008 macbook aluminum body BTW. I even went to the extent of purchasing a new battery (Im sure we all know how cheap those are). With Mountain Lion I am luck to get an hours worth of use with out being tethered to the power cord.

Aug 3, 2012 1:09 PM in response to jpengland96by gkygrl,Also just saw this post from someone from the above article - makes sense and will look into it:
"I had this happening to my mid-2010 MBP and I thought it might be the result of outdated HDD firmware. I updated the Seagate Momentus XT firmware to SD28 and that appears to have fixed things. This was not very scientific problem-solving though, and it could be total coincidence."

Aug 3, 2012 1:14 PM in response to jpengland96by boxner1,Mid 2011 MBA. With Lion I would lose 1-2% overnight while in sleep. With ML I'm seeing 7-8% per night drops. Power Nap is turned off on battery, so that's not a factor. I didn't make any changes to settings or add any apps since upgrading to Lion.
I haven't done a full discharge test to see if that time has changed.
