Aug 9, 2012 2:32 AM in response to chrisfromei123by Chris-UK,chrisfromei123 good update
I think folks are "dramatic" as we all love Apple and their products but this is quite a significant issue for many of us and genuinely does impact what we do.
I am impressed with Apples response so far and have now sent off my data to them. Sometimes there need this kind of pressure to realise it is a real issue vs just a load a users moaning :O)
I have also tried most of the things you have tried and still my battery has gone from 100% (I do get he 100% charge) down to 65% in 80 mins using just Mail and Chrome.
I think I will try your advice though on letting the battery drain down naturally (good ideal) and see if that helps reset as all this small changes are slightly improving things, however, we should not have to dim our screens, keyboards, stop notifications etc etc as I got a good 7 hours from Lion before without having to do all this.
Thanks again to Apple for being proactive in reaching out to us on here and acknowleging there is an issue.
This is why we love Apple. We will love you more when you fix it :O)

Aug 9, 2012 2:52 AM in response to jpengland96by Smeagol89,I updated to ML one week ago and i got the same problems. Battery used to live 7hours and now with ML i only got 4-5h with a complete full charge.
I got am MBP 13" Late 2011 an I'm a bit disappointed, that the new OS doesn't improve the battery life...
I hope there will be a Update soon.

Aug 9, 2012 3:06 AM in response to Smeagol89by g8production,7 to 4-5 hours is not the bug. It's not good, maybe it depends by some services/deamons/permissions, but it's not the battery drain problem discussed (i have 2hours with a complete full charge... it's the problem!!!!).

Aug 9, 2012 4:03 AM in response to spotshooterby Nastradini,My macbook white unibody late 2009 also is loosing battery life fast after installing ML. 1% loss every 2-3 min. This has never happened to me before.

Aug 9, 2012 4:10 AM in response to jpengland96by Zane81,I have been a light user of my new rMBP since it arrived 24th July, I updated to ML immediately and have been disapointed with the battery life so far.I have only used it to browse the web and use mail. I plan to use it as my main machine, but have been sticking with my old 2009 MBP while setting this one up.
The battery only seems to last about 3 to 4 hours with light use so I am a bit worried about switching my Aperture libraires over and using it properly as I find I have to keep the screen so dark to conserve power, my old MBP is fine in comparison.

Aug 9, 2012 5:03 AM in response to jpengland96by alex1907,My new Macbook Air 13" with 8GB RAM and 1,8GHz also is much faster empty, like 2 weeks ago with "old" LION. Before I could work with MB Air about 8 hours and now I can be luck, if it's possible to work more than 4 hours. Please Apple fix, otherwise it would be sad to deinstall Mountain Lion again and reinstall LION

Aug 9, 2012 6:08 AM in response to jpengland96by EddieLee24,I have the Pro Retina and Lion did allow for 8 hours of run time. I made the mistake of upgrading to Moutain Lion and now I might get 4 hours. Called support and they said they had not heard of the issue. They set me up an appointment at the store today to test my system. I would like to un-upgrade at this point.

Just restore the backup you made prior to upgrading.
