Q: Where did RSS go in Safari 6???

Where the heck is the RSS reader!?!?! It was the best all round RSS reader! I DEPEND on it for thousands of feeds that I have to keep track of every day!

AND WHY wasn't there somekind of warning? Or a suggestion for an alternative? Or at least a good extension/option!?

FIX THIS ASAP PLEASE! People like me DEPEND on features like these, you CANNOT just take them away without warning when you force a software update like this!

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.7), 10GB RAM - ATI Radeon HD 5870

i just saw the other day a page with one article before the next button and i also recently upgraded to 10.7.5 so its possible they have become more prevelent for some reason.

    ertsoft:

ill plus one the kickstarter idea also im not sure the the analogy holds but with fetch there is a widget that i dont think functions without having the full fetch program but im not certain of that.

Could kickstarter.com be a way for you to fund the development of the RSS plugin?

I looked in to this and it seemed like a good fit for Kickstarter but Kickstarter is limited to US residents. I straddle the border pretty well but my Ontario driver's license makes me ineligible.

cant we just use one of us us residents to make the kickstarter then hire you on contract to make the plugin?

Sure. There are a number of Kickstarter projects in Canada that use an end-around like that. It would be best to contact me directly for this and move it off the Apple support forums. You should be able to find me with Google.

I recommend you try Indiegogo.com - more flexible than Kickstarter. I have used both for my project, the Waiting Game. Http://thewaitinggameproject.com

Indie seemed more flexible than Kickstarter.

just thought i would give you all an update… ertresoft is kinda busy so he's thinking the earliest he'd be able to do some work on this would be dec, but he did say he was going to do some research about a few things because there is still some question (i believe) as to whether the full functionality would ever be possible without Apple's help. So we are on hold for a bit but again just wanted to update you folks.

Here's another random question, what's going on with Webkit? is that been upgraded to feature parity with safari 6 or does it still function like safari 5 under mountain lion that maybe be a way for people to get the best of both worlds, but im not jumping from lion to try it unless someone tells me the coast is clear.

Stop advertising garbage software from etresoft. I would not use that even if you paid me daily.

hopefully this hasn't been asked yet but if it has, my apologies in advance...

They are about to upgrade my computer at work to 10.7 so I assume I will be losing my last bastion of Safari RSS bookmarks.

Is there an adequate way, in one fail swoop, to backup all my RSS bookmarks into something else for safe keeping?

this really blows. Gonna miss old Safari.

yeah when you export bookmarks the rss links are included but you definitely want to do that before upgrading to safari6/ML from what i've read

Found this very "funny".   -----> http://www.apple.com/rss/

    Here's what APPLE'S BANNER READS:

"Get Apple news, iTunes hit lists, and more delivered directly to your web browser or newsreader. Click the links below to subscribe to the Apple RSS feeds you're most interested in."

HEY APPLE!  Did you forget to put in that statement, "unless your web browser is Safari"?

Funny how none of the links will open in Safari!?!?!

Funny how at the end of bottom of the discussion pages there is a link to view as an RSS feed!?!?!

If you aren't gonna support it in your browser - THEN WHY ARE YOU PROMOTING IT!!!!
