Power Nap missing on MacBook Air 2012

I have a MacBook Air 13" 2012. With Mountain Lion the Power Nap feature is nowhere to be found. The checkbox is missing in the Energy Settings Pref Pane.

Am I the only one?

ClayG,

Where did you hear about a firmware update? I have the new (mid-2012) MacBook Air (11") and I do not have the Power Nap setting either. I purchased Mountain Lion on my 2010 MacBook Pro and copied it to my Air to avoid a double download. I was wondering if the original download recognized the MacBook Pro was not compatible with Power Nap and a specific version of the OS was downloaded (seems pretty unlikely to me). However, the MacWorld OS review showed this feature and didn't mention a firmware update. How did they get this feature to work.

Thanks for any insights.

David,

Some models require a firmware update and some don't. Those that don't already have Power Nap enabled. This is a footnote from Apple's website:

3 Power Nap requires a Mac notebook with built-in flash storage. May require a firmware update.
