Where did my Google search bar go? I just updated safari.

I don't understand where the google search bar in the top right corner went. I just updated safari, and I'm already getting super annoyed that it's not there. Is it possible to get it back?

If they leave it there people will complain about not being modern or having wasted space or whatever else someone will come up with. All top rated modern browsers ditched the search bar a long time ago.

If they remove it, like they did, they'll have people complain not wanting change.

As always can't make everyone happy.

As for the bar itself. What is it about the smaller bar that is better than the entire address bar at the top? It is now 1 bar that will accept searches (EXACT SAME AS THE SEARCH BAR) or web addresses. Funcationally-wise, far as I can tell, it is exactly the same. What I see is complaining of it looking different.

You'll get used to it. Well, not that you have much of a choice in that matter unless you don't mind using software that will quickly become unsupported. Google Chrome, IE, and now Safari have all dropped the search bar infavor of a unified box.

FireFox still uses the search box in the current version (14). I've read they plan to remove it later on but no telling when and which version at the moment.
