Separate Google Search

I realize the combined URL and Search window is nice, but what if you don't like it? They don't have the search window in the customize toolbar so you can't reset it back to previous versions of Safari. Ok, I'm a curmudgeon, I like them separate. Now I'll just keep a Google search tab open or use a third party search application. And why does the URL display dim the URL after the domain name? What's with that?
