Where are the RSS feeds?
I'm trying to figure out where the RSS feeds that were displayed in Mail have gone.

Yes, but is there an application which can get me back the actual feeds or did Apple just delete them? Are they in my backups somewhere?
Pasting a feed into Safari bounces it to Mail and then I get an error.

Same problem for me. I had about 20 RSS feeds in Mail. I'd rather get a list of them out of Mail, rather than track down all the feeds again. I didn't find anything useful in ~/Library/Preferences or in ~/Library/Application Support/Mail .
I found the feeds in the ~/Library/Mail/V2/RSS/ folder. Each of the sub-folders is one feed and the Info.plist file contains the actual feed address. The Library folder is hidden, but you can find it by opening your home folder and then using the Go > Go To Folder command to go to "Library".
Not very convenient, but at least I can get the list of feeds back.
I'm still trying to figure out a good feed reader though, something Mountain Lion notification center savvy would be best.

I was also looking for notification-savvy readers with no luck. I'd be surprised if the main readers, like Reeder, don't add it soon. Either way, Growl 2.0 will support notification center, so as long as something supports Growl, it can be funneled to notification center.

I'm surprised at how chiper everyone is about "finding" the rss feeds lost to Mountain Lion. I don't want to go through 40 rss feeds one by one. Apple shouldn't have deleted them in the first place. But if they were going to, they should have warned their users. I could have imported those feeds into a new reader, before installing Mountain Lion.
I still want some way to just import them. Why would Apple not account for that? I'm miffed. Apple needs to fix this issue!!!

It is way better then the old way Apple had of doing the RSS feeds.
Personally if Apple decided to bring them back, I would stick with Vienna instead.

It looks like Apple wants to lose users to Google, because with the loss of RSS their Mail.app is not even worth starting up. I am now using Google webmail and Google Reader to replace Mail.app. One less icon in the Dock.
