Google "toolbar" has disappeared and "reader" has replaced it. How do I get my search bar back?

My google "toolbar" is gone. I updated some software, and now it has vanished. I have tried so many things, View>Customize, Restart Safari... none of it works. My toolbar was replaced with "Reader" I don't want reader, I want my toolbar back. Please someone help! Thank you.

That is just horrible! If I would have known that, I would not have upgraded it. How can they not be seperate??? What is Apple thinking? The google sidebar was much more convienent than this new Safari 6 is. I have been frustrated all afternoon becuase of this. I tried everything... I am really not happy! Apple, get your sh*t together!!

My Google search has also vanished from my toolbar. I thought it was something I did with my settings. Glad to know it was the update that did it. I WANT MY GOOGLE BACK!! I know, I know..........I should have read the update in greater detail. Oh well. I guess I just have to get used to it the way it looks now. When it comes to my computer, I don't mind updates as long as they don't change the layout too much. I don't like changes in the appearance of my toolbar/homepage!! Ugh!!!

My frustration with this is that safari used to auto-fill web addresses. I could enter "dropbox" and it would automatically take me to dropbox.com. Now it gives me a google search result. I do NOT like this change at all. Giving us the option to make it an address bar exclusively would be a very, very big improvement.

I have since (my gripes), upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion w/the new Safari, & the intergrated Adress/Seach function is the same.

It took a bit of getting used to, but I no longer miss the seperate Search!

The new features like `swipe between Tabs´ & `Notification Center´, and the `Show all Tabs´ more than make up for the Toolbar issue!

The addition of the `Auto-Fill´ & `Share´ buttons is cool.

Safari (& my Mac Mini´s overall performance), is much faster & `crisper´.

Apple´s Back On Track for me 😉

You dowloaded a Google Toolbar that does nothing but lets you type a search in; no suggestions or ways to customize it to do so. You downloaded something that has been around for a long time, and is generally pointless. Next time you come on a blog, bring something with some substance. A 12 year old could have given better advice regarding this forum than you. There's no reason for a smiley face, like you just invented a game-changing product. Take Care!

The way you replied to SWarnfeldt was not really called for. These forums are for help and support not unwarranted abuse or even abuse of any kind (this is against the terms of use). SWarnfeldt was just doing his/her best to provide a response. He/she had tried to help and you replied to his/her post with the unforgiving wrath of a bully.

What would be good here is for you to post a public apology to SWarnfeldt and what would be even better is if in future you refrained from cyber-bullying.
