Exchange under Mountain Lion

I have major problems using Exchange in Mountain Lion. Under Lion everything worked fine (Mail, Calendar, Contacts incl. global address list). Under ML only Calendar works, Mail and Contacts show connection errors. Our corporate server is Exchange 2007.

Has somebody a fully working Exchange in ML?

Any ideas?

Many thanks!

Have people looked in their system.log console to see if Mail is spitting out any errors there? When I do, I see tons of "The request failed schema validation" assertion failures in [EWSConnection sendMessage:forRequest:], which makes me think that the Mail.app and Exchange 2010 server do not agree on how to talk to each other.

I've sent my logs (and who knows what else... they had me run some sort of 'diagnostics' program) to AppleCare and am awaiting a response.

I found a solution that worked for me, through an app called DavMail. The app works as a gateway between the Exchange server and your mail app (Mail.app, or Thunderbird or any other app with no Exchange support). It converts all Exchange calls to standard IMAP, so all your app needs to support is IMAP.

A bit tricky to set up, but once you do it's magic. http://davmail.sourceforge.net/

What Ive come to notice is that every day when I open my MBA, Mail has synced a few more emails. But to try and make it sync after that doesnt seem to work.

I am also not based in the office most of the week, so I cant tell whether it would work correctly once synced fully. I will report back on thursday with regard to this.

Anyone have any feedback regarding this? If you have synced 100% internally, does Mail work correctly once external?

Really hope they sort this out in 10.8.2, I have been using Outlook for Mac for a while now, and have decided to swith to Mail and the Mac offerings mostly because of the integrations with notifications and what not. Also, not the biggest fan of Outlook mac.

Well, we changed our servers over the weekend, and from that point I could not reach them. Not surprising really, since the server address has changed. I unchecked the Autodiscover, put in the correct address, and Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Reminders all sync.

The problem I have now is with Notes and Exchange. Seems like this just won't sync. Unlike the other Exchange Apps, it seems like you cannot select the server address manually for Notes. Every time I go to the Accounts menu in Notes, it pushes me over to my Exchange Settings in Mail,Contacts, Calendars. There appears to be no way to globally change your server address. Or am I missing something? My iCloud notes sync fine. Notes in exchange, on the other hand, simply sits there and says updating but does not update. I am convinced it is because the server address is incorrect. Anybody know a way to change the server address in notes?

Many thanks for any advice.

Ok, so Ive been opening and closing mail every day when I start working, and have noticed that each day Mail seems to sync a few more mails from my exchange server at work.

This morning, I finally saw a new mail notification popup!! Much to my amazement, Mail has finally synced all my mail.

Hopefully from this point, it will resume working correctly.

Will keep you updated.

I've been reading through all the posts to this forum... and I understand that there are a few different issues being discussed in this thread... but what I'm trying to figureout is if the latest realease of ML has fixed the issue with people using Mail with multiple Exchange Accounts. One of the original problem was that - not all of the folders / mailboxes for an exchange account were being populated in Mail and not all the messages were being synced. It seemed to work ok if you only had one Exchange Account... but had problems once you added more.

I've held back on entering all my Exchange Accounts into mail... but would like to do so if the issue has been fixed.

While reading through these posts it seems like the issue has been resolved... but subsequent posts suggest there may be some things still not working.

Can anyone answer if the issue where Mail was not working well when a user has multiple Exchange Accounts been fixed or not?

Thanks for any help in understanding.

Exchange still seems to be working OK for me (single account). Over the last few days an odd thing has started to happen. When I read a new email from the Exchange account the message is sometimes (not always) still shown as "unread". I have found I need to go to the Message menu and manually mark it as "read". This could be a problem with my exchange server but might also be a symptom of ML not talking correctly to that server.

I have four accounts in mail, but only one Exchange account. I still have the issue of partially empty folders and problems in sending emails (with 10.8.1 installed). In most cases it helps to close mail and start it again. But sometimes it is even not working after a re-start. If you search for specific mails, they always appear, but not when you just open the respective folder.

I am really looking forward to a fix of this ongoing exchange problem.

I am so sick of this!!! I have tried everything on these posts plus my own knowledge and NOTHING works!! I travel all over the world and rely heavily on Email Exchange and iCloud between all my devices. I don't know what else to say or put on here to make APPLE to understand!! FIX IT!!!!! IM SICK OF WASTING MY TIME!

Besides the fact I am a avid Apple owner of every device but the iPod, supporter and developer, something of this nature seriously makes me doubt the amount of dedication Apple has to a very important business product after it has been launched.

I once again tried a trick and thought it worked, all the email showed up in the main inbox and all my folders. But as soon as I clicked on the one of the folders then back to the main inbox it all disappeared!!! So sick of this! Normally, I would not let such a thing anger me because I usually find ways around it, but unfortunately not this time. I paid for ML and I'm not asking, I'm demanding it to work!

APPLE, I guess if you are not going to fix this then I guess you are asking your loyal/dedicated customers to support Microsoft instead, because it seems most of us are having to us MS Outlook for our Exchange Mail. AND IT WORKS. So Please APPLE,

Get over the iPhone 5 hype and

FIX THE PROBLEM!!!

Finally someone I absolutely agree with, txpilot, I am the same, extremely busy, don't have time to be bouncing this problem, just need a solution, a month has gone by, no return call from apple support, I'm also a big user of every single apple device and I am very disillusioned with the lack of a fix/apathy from apple on this problem, seriously I said it once I will say it again, is apple heading the way of Microsoft ??

I was having issues with my exchange account as well, and it's been gradually getting worse and worse. I set it up initially using the "mail.server.com" format, and I've since completely removed the account from Mail, wiped all of the related keychains, and reset the account using "owa.server.com".

There still seem to be some issues with messages coming in and saying "no content" when there obviously is but this has fixed my problem with mail not sending at least for the time being. Hopefully Apple will release an update soon that fixes these problems.

Problem solved for me. I have 3 Exchange mail accounts and only one of them was not showing the messages (with Mail 6 and OS 10.8). The problem went away when I checked "Use classic layout" in the Viewing tab of Mail Preferences. When I unchecked that box the messages were still visible.

I closed an relaunched Mail and the fix seems to have remained (haven't restarted the computer yet, though)
