Jul 26, 2012 8:18 PM in response to Reynirby babbdawg,Like the rest of you I upgraded just for the Airplay feature. Since Airplay worked so well with my iPad, I never imagined that the ML version wouldn't work on my older iMac. Fortuneatly I was able to get a refund through the App Store.
If you want to try a great app for streaming video from a variety of formats try Airflick. I've found it works better thatn Airparrot and Beamer. I had too many sound/synce problems with Airparrot and Beamer had to constantly buffer.

Jul 26, 2012 9:36 PM in response to babbdawgby Kakks,I find Aiflick to be pretty useless,.... it can't stream any video content from any website and the formats that it does support is basically the same ones you can already stream through iTunes. Doesn't support .avi or other sort of "non apple" formats.

Jul 26, 2012 9:45 PM in response to Alley_Catby Groucho 1,Getting a refund and backpedalling to Snow Leopard over AirPlay Mirroring is overreaction, IMO -- there are 199+ other new features well worth the pitifully cheap 20 bucks of upgrade cost. And I am also trying to find a way to make mirroring work, but even if it doesn't, I don't want a refund. I want a hack to make it work LOL

Jul 26, 2012 10:43 PM in response to Groucho 1by combustion,I agree. It's not worth getting a refund over. I'll just make the best of it and use the other features.
One thing I did find strange is that when I first completed the install I had the mirroring icon in the menu bar. I left my mid 2010 MBP backing up overnight then yesterday morning the icon was gone.
When I switched on my ATV last night the icon appeared briefly then dissapeared again. Very odd as it's not supposed to be able to support it....

Jul 27, 2012 4:59 AM in response to Ivan Clarke1by combustion,I was using the trial version of Airparrot before Mountain Lion. I've now purchased the full version and have no issues with it.

Jul 27, 2012 2:33 PM in response to Reynirby WackMacHack,Please everyone, be sure to visit www.apple.com/feedback and make sure you raise ****. This issue of no Airplay support for some slightly older systems (my Mid 2010 MPB 2.66 i7 included) is absolute ********. If enough people start a ruckus we should get some sort of reaction.

Jul 28, 2012 11:13 AM in response to Alley_Catby BradTJ,I heard AirParrot doesn't airplay sound. Is this true?
-
Jul 28, 2012 4:06 PM in response to BradTJby eldolive,That is not true fortunately.
Checkout Airparrot FAQ
"
Airparrot has full AirPlay audio support. Choose "Send Audio" from the AirParrot menu to stream that Rihanna music video. Currently, AirParrot only transmits stereo audio. Digital audio may be added in the future."
