Safari 6 favicons erased upon quit

Since updating Safari 5.1.7 to Safari 6, all favicons have disappeared.

Visiting sites anew brings their relevant favicons back, but they get erased again upon quiting Safari.

Am I the only one ???

Sorry to say, but as soon as you clear History manually, they will disappear again.I keep an extra copy of WebpageIcons.db which is located in the Safari folder in my user Library. I replace this one with the one in the folder and the favicons are back .... untill you clear history again. Hopefully Apple will allow users to keep the icons saved in an update, which was the case with Safari 5.

I swiched to Google's Chrome, which is such a better browsing experience in so many ways, and favicons are not deleted with a simple history dump. Firefox is better than Safari as well if you prefer not to play in the google sandbox. Sadly Apple is neglecting Safari and the competition is eating its lunch. Do yourselves a favor and move on.

Pure insanity. It's 2013 and still happening. I filed a report at apple.com/feedback.

Clear History is a useful thing to do frequently. Erasing ALL your favicons, which are part of your BOOKMARKS not part of your HISTORY? That's madness, and makes zero sense with the term "Clear History". Hugely destructive, because there's no practical way to get your numerous bookmark favicons all back once they're gone.
