Mac AirPlay-Audio, but no video

Hi, All

I have updated to Mountain Lion and have a current Apple TV. The Mac supports AirPlay, and it can see the Apple TV (had to reboot to get that up-it would not see the Apple TV at first, though iTunes Home Sharing worked fine).

When I switch on Air Play, the screen on the Mac adjusts and audio flows just fine out of my speakers, but the TV screen just goes black. I have tried a few different websites, Hulu and general screens, but I have yet to get any video to come up. Audio consistently works fine. The Apple TV has no issue displaying video without Air Play running, and Air Play works fine from my iPhone and iPad-but the Mac just refuses to display any video.

Any similar experiences or ideas?

Same issue, early 2011 MBP with Intel video chipset, airplay works from iphone and ipad, but from macbook pro I get audio only and a black screen / no video. I tried the airparrot trial and with that, I get video (but not completely full screen)

UPDATE: An app called Little Snitch reported to me that it couldn't run because it wasn't compatible with the OS, so I went to their website and downloaded a free update. This also required a reboot. Now Airplay works for me. So the OP might want to try checking for installed but incompatible apps, especially any that may use Growl.

This app was installed because I had done a clean Mountain Lion install and then restored apps from my Time Machine backup (which apparently restored some apps that weren't compatible with Mountain Lion). Good luck.

I have the same problem. I tried all methods: connect a cable between Apple TV and router, between MBP and router, and between MBP and Apple TV but none of them works. I tried to change the screen resolution to 800x600 so that the data need to transfer is as little as possible but still no use. I have the MBP mid 2012 and Apple TV 3rd Gen with newest software. My Apple TV works fine with my iPad and iPhone. No problem if I stream video from iTunes on my Mac.
