No "General" tab on settings of my iphone 4S

I have a problem upgrading software of my iPhone 4S, Model A1387 (printed on back cover of phone).

Under settings, the interface does not show "General" tab" and I can't find "Version" tab as well and I don't know what operating system is being used.

In Phone Settings, it is showing Model no. MC318LL.

I am new to iPhone and need help to upgrade the software and and get a General tab on the Settings tab.

Your help will be much appreciated.

Thank you.

I clicked on Settings and it took me to Settings page. There are following tabs on this page:

Wifi

Notifications

Network Settings

Tone Settings

----------------------

LCD Backlight

Wallpaper

Phone Settings

----------------

Mail, Contacts, Calendars

Call Settings

Safari

Messaging

iPod

Image Viewer

Store

Nike+iPod

--------------------

iBooks

Advanced Settings

--------------------

As you can see from above, there are no Application or Version tabs on this (Settings) screen.

When I click on "Phone Settings", and click on About tab on this page, the following tabs appear:

Network

Capacity (32GB)

Available (25GB)

Version FI2011_D_NOWIFI_V2

Carrier

Model MC318LL

Serial number

Wi=Fi Address

Bluetooth

IMEI

ICCID

Moderm Firmware 01.59.00 (notice: moderm not modem)

I hope this info will be sufficient to suggest a solution.

and thank you so much for offering to help me.
