My 2007 MacBookPro crashed, bought a new one and I'm trying to install my old Adobe Photoshop 6.0. When I install the CD I get a message "You can't open the application Install Adobe Photoshop 6.0 because the Classic environment is no longer supported". I called Adobe but they say they no longer provide that version and basically can't help. Does anyone know how to get around this problem?

Unfortunately, you'll need to buy a new or more-current version of Adobe's Creative Suite or PhotoShop Elements for Macs. PhotoShop 6 was designed to run on the PowerPC processor-based Macs that could boot from either OS X or OS 9, or could only boot OS X, but could run OS 9 applications in the Classic environment. I don't understand how you were able to install this software on your 2007 version MacBook Pro, since it (like your new laptop) had an Intel processor. The capability of a 2007-vintage Mac to support OS 9.2.2 in a Classic environment was not supported.
Jeff is right. According to Wikipedia, Photoshop 6.0 is 12 years old now. It would be to your benefit to use a more recent version that can take full advantage of the memory, multiple cores, graphics card, and other hardware in your 2012 MacBook Pro. If you don't need more features than you had in Photoshop 6, you might save money by getting the current version of Pixelmator or Photoshop Elements which would be much cheaper than Photoshop.
Or, if you don’t need to use the CMYK colour model (which IIANM Photoshop Elements doesn’t support either), there’s the free, open-source Gnu Image Manipulation Program (GIMP).
If you still have the OS 9 or earlier disks you could also use SheepShaver which is an emulator of older Macs from the 1990s.
