Got OS X Mountain Lion, everything seems to be working fine except the "Messages" application. I can't sign in with my apple ID. Every time I try, it gives me this message "This registering device does not have appropriate credentials." What should I do?

well... first try logging in to https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/ and verify your apple id.
My Apple ID is working just fine with everything, except the Messages on my Mac, like my iMessage works on my iPhone and iPad..

Can't I log in from my Apple ID? I mean my imessage on iPhone and iPad are functioning on my apple ID.. I don't have aim, jabber, google talk, or a yahoo account..

Same thing happening to me. After the upgrade to Mountain Lion, I can no longer sign in to Messages or Facetime. Btw, I had facetime and Messages (beta) on Lion prior to the upgrade and they were working fine. Any solution?

iPhone and iPad still work fine.
Go to your network preferences, hit "advanced", then "DNS" and add a new DNS-server: "8.8.8.8" (without the quotation marks). Possibly reconnect to your network afterwards. This is Google's open DNS-server. I used to have this issue on my iOS devices and this solved it for me.

Changing DNS doen't make any difference.

Today everything worked... I logged in to appleid.apple.com (it was verified before) then logged out... facetime and messages are working.
Yep. Today it just worked.
You have to go Preferencies > Date&Time > Time Zone > Tik "automaticly choose time zone according to your location" restrart your mac have to work. Just solved it on my mac
