Q: Can't install OS

The OS doesn't seem to be installed correctly. When I first click dowload, the bar suddenly went full saying the download is already finished. Click on it and everything was okay up to choosing hard drive to use. then this message appeared:

This copy of the Install OS X Mountain Lion application can't be verified. It may have been corrupted or tampered with during downloading.

Delete this copy of the application, and go to the Purchases page of the Mac App Store to download a new copy.

I had deleted the downloaded file and also the cache. I also tried restarting but it's still doesn't work.

How do I solve it?

MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2010), OS X Mountain Lion

    I've got the same problem...

"This copy of the Install OS X Mountain Lion application can't be verified. It may have been corrupted or tampered with during downloading."

The progress bar on launchpad seems to be competed once I clicked download.

I would say to give some time and wait until the 48-hour upgrade fever slows down. I do remember intalling OS X Lion 5 days after its general availability. You can always try redownloading the installer by clicking the Purchased tab in the MAS while holding the option key and hit the Download button to the side of OS X Mountain Lion.

thank god I thought I'm the only one facing this.

I sent a question to the apple customer service and this is what I received.

Greetings from iTunes Store/Mac App Store Customer Support. My name is Roden and I will do my best to address your concern.

I understand that you are having problem downloading the OS X Mountain Lion. To correct this, I’ve posted the missing application to your account. You can download it again by following these steps:

1.) First, see this article to install the latest updates for your computer:

Mac OS X: Updating your software

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1338

2.) From the Apple () menu, choose “App Store.”

3.) From the Store pull-down menu, choose Check for Unfinished Downloads.

4.) If prompted, enter your Apple ID and password, then click the Sign In button. Your download should begin automatically.

Click the Purchases button at the top of the App Store window to see your downloads. If your download doesn’t start automatically, click the Resume button next to the application name on the Purchases page.

You can download the applications on your Purchases page to any Mac that you own at no extra charge.

If an application you’ve purchased isn’t on your Purchases page, it may have been hidden. You can hide a purchase by clicking the "X" to the left of the Install button. To check for hidden purchases and unhide them if necessary, see this article:

Mac App Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4928

If an application isn’t on your Purchases or Hidden Purchases page, it may have been removed from the App Store or modified since you purchased it. Applications that are modified or removed from the App Store are no longer available for download.

If you continue to have difficulty downloading an app, please reply to let us know. This article also offers some troubleshooting steps you can try while waiting for our response:

Resolving your concern is important to me. Thank you for being a valued iTunes and Mac App Store customer. Have a nice day!

It's still not working though. I'll wait for few more days before trying again. Guess it's server problem. or maybe it's my internet trolling me

I had the same problem but I manage to fix it.

Just make a Repair Disk Permission using Disk Utility, after that it will install fine in your Mac.

    It work for me.

Create new user account in your system with Admin privilage. log in to the new account , then log into app store with your apple ID. Try to download again. this will work most of the time.

    Hello,

You can go to the Mac App Store Support Page. Click the "Contact Support" option.

    Hope this helps!

I would suggest to Zulfadhlito contact the Mac App Store Support Team if it continues to have problem.

In a final note, both of you guys can also contact AppleCare for free within 90 days of your purchase of OS X Mountain Lion. This is regardless if your AppleCare has expired.

Open "Users & Groups" in System Preferences, and check the apple ID under your icon is the ID you're using to buy OS X Mountain Lion. I didn't realize this and wasted three hours to download it again and again.
